I added the peep instructions to the http://tat-calendar.blogspot.com for today so everyone can tat peep bookmarks.

I'm using a new computer and I don't have all my software installed yet, so I wasn't able to post a diagram, but this one is pretty easy to do. You should be able to understand it without a close up photo or a diagram.

There are just a few days left in March, and I will post several April patterns all at once then I will not be available for the rest of the month. There will be a pattern for each day eventually. I will be gone most of April, and will return to doing a pattern each day sometime in May.

I have enjoyed hearing from everyone who is enjoying the pattern a day.

I may be able to post some days in April, and some days when I am traveling I will not have internet access for a bit. The best thing is to concentrate on my teaching at the tat days and not worry about trying to post each day.

Be patient... please, and maybe design something for the calendar that you can share with everyone.

hugs,
Ruth

I just started this rainbow today. Still need to add green, blue, and purple.

Look! Up in the sky... It's a bird, it's a plane, it's a rainbow kite!

My niece Sarah told me to tat a rainbow in split rings so it would be wavy... OK. But it turned out to look like a rainbow kite!

BTW, I absolutely adore Sharon's rainbow tatted earrings, and the rainbow bookmark in Tat's Where I Stopped is just wonderful too!

Anyone know of any more tatted rainbows?

On the tatting pattern calendar I have posted a cloud that is also a flower... inspired by the math of chaos theory ( fractals ) with a link to the fractal art contest website.
This one is called: Jugglers by Panny Brawley It is one of my favorites for 2006!

Happy First Day of Spring!!!

Here is a photo taken in front of the house built by my great grandfather, Daily Vance Mahan (right) for his family. My great grandmother (left) whose maiden name was Ramsey, and my grandfather Ward Mahan (center).

Irish protestant, they came to America because of Religious persecution and the famine in Ireland. Daily Mahan was a furniture maker, as were many of the Irish immigrants. I inherited a beautiful Mahogany table that he had made. My grandfather was a policeman in Warren Ohio. This was an occupation available to Irish Americans in the early 1900s.
